What is the fee for registration?

The fee varies depending when you register and the type of accommodation you would like. To see the full year’s breakdown, contact Taylor at, otherwise you will be able to see the most current discount available when clicking ‘register’ from the main landing page.

Can I share a room with my friend?

The dorm rooms at Olds College all include one double bed, and a private bathroom. If you are comfortable sharing a bed with your friend, then you should both register for “Shared Bed Accommodation”! If you're close…but not that close, register for a private dorm, and be neighbors instead!

Can my dorm room be near my friends?

Of course! Dorms are assigned as participants arrive in Olds. When checking in at Olds College, bring your friend and simply ask to be neighbors!

Is my fee a donation?

As there are many costs associated with the tour that are not sponsored, your registration fee will be used to offset our bike tour costs. You will not receive a tax receipt for your registration fees.

Is there an age restriction to participate?

Yes, participants must be 10 years of age or older.

Can I refund or transfer my registration fee if I choose not to participate?

Unfortunately, registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

I paid a registration fee, what is the minimum fundraising?

The MS Bike - Airdrie to Olds is a fundraising event. Your registration fee’s go towards the cost of running the event. To ensure the fundraising success of the MS Bike - Airdrie to Olds, all riders (team captains, team members and individuals) are required to raise a minimum of $350 in donations in addition to the registration fee. Registered riders will not be held responsible for the $350 required donation minimum if they do not ride in the MS Bike - Airdrie to Olds.

Once you hit the $350 minimum, you will be able to pick up your cyclist package during Package Pick Up. If you do not hit the $350 minimum, you will not be able to pick up your package. Any participant wishing to ride who has not reached their minimum fundraising can pay the outstanding balance by cash or credit and receive a tax receipt. Donations will be accepted at the check-in at TransCanada Turbines prior to the start of the tour.

How do I book a dorm room?

Dorm rooms are available on the Olds College Campus. Upgraded in 2016, each dorm room has a double size bed & private bathroom. When registering you will be prompted to select which type of registration & accommodation you would like.

  • Camping/ Own Accommodations - You may bring tents, RV, or find your own accommodations
  • Shared Bed Accommodations - You and the person you select will be sharing a bed
  • Private Dorm Accommodation - You will receive your own room

What are my options for overnight accommodations in Olds?

You can book a local Olds hotel, camp onsite at the college (Tenting, RV or trailers welcome), or you can register for a dorm at Olds College (must select dorm upon registration, or contact Taylor at to upgrade).

Cyclists who selected “Camping/own accommodations” are responsible for booking their own accommodations for the tour weekend. It is recommended that cyclist book their hotel rooms early, as rooms book up quickly.

Please note - there are no shuttles to the hotels.

When can I bring my trailer/RV/motorhome to set up at Olds College?

You or a teammate may bring the camping unit to Lot DD at Olds College on Friday, June 26th or Saturday June 27th. Please ensure your camper has left by Sunday June 28th in the afternoon.

How do I bring my supplies to Olds if I am cycling?

Pack your luggage onto the luggage truck at the start line. We will transport all your baggage to Olds. Upon arrival in Olds, you can collect your luggage at the Frank Grisdale Hall Residence gymnasium (Building 18) across from the dorm accommodations. Please ensure your baggage is clearly tagged with your cyclist number and name.

Are there showers on site at Olds for campers?

There are complimentary showers available at Olds College. Showers can be found outside of the gymnasium where the luggage pick up is (Building 18). Be sure to bring your own towel and toiletries.

Pre-Tour Information

Can I pick up my friend’s package too?

Of course! Please make sure you also know their size if picking up any reward clothing!
*Please note that cyclist packages will only be distributed to participants who have raised the minimum pledge amount of $350.

Am I responsible for bringing my luggage to Olds?

No, we provide a truck to transport your extra luggage to Olds College. You will be able to pick up your luggage upon arriving in Olds.

Are there any training sessions available?

Training Rides will begin each year in the Spring. Watch your email for more information!

Are there opportunities to meet other cyclists and Bike tour staff prior to the event?

Absolutely, we can’t wait to meet you! We will be hosting a Pub Night and a Shop Night in early Spring.

What other opportunities are there to get involved besides cycling?

There are many ways to get involved besides cycling. We ALWAYS need volunteers. You can also register as a Volunteer Raising Pledges at Contact us if you have additional questions!

Is the MS Bike - Airdrie to Olds on social media?

What type of bike can I use?

Where there’s a wheel, there’s a way! You can ride any bike that you find most comfortable. Road bikes, mountain bikes, unicycles, tandem bikes and electric bikes are all permitted on the tour!

I need new gear, can I get any discounts?

You are in luck! Our wonderful partners at The Bike Shop offer participants a shop night prior to the event. The shop night will be taking place in May, with great deals to get you ready for the ride!

Do I have to participate as part of a team?

You are welcome to ride as an individual but it’s more fun to ride with a team! The energy that comes from participating on a team is contagious!

What is the Team Incentive Program?

Work with your team to reach new fundraising milestones! When you are registered on a team, your fundraising will count towards the team total. As your team reaches fundraising milestones, you can share in the rewards!

I am not on a team, how can I participate in the Team Incentive Program?

Recruit friends, family and co-workers and start your own team today! Alternatively, you can join the Individual riders team “Spokes People”. Lastly you can stay riding as an individual and work towards the Individual Rewards!

Tour Weekend Information

If I am unable to ride can someone ride in my place?

No, unfortunately you cannot find a replacement cyclist to ride in your place. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferrable.

What kind of support do I receive along the way?

The ride is a fully supported route! We offer multiple check points approximately every 15-20 km along the way. Checkpoints include refreshments, snacks, lunch and washroom facilities. We offer medical support (trained professional medical personnel), SAG vehicles (pick up cyclists who cannot finish or need a break from cycling) and The Bike Shop Mechanics (for any cyclists with mechanical issues).

Can friends and family watch along the way?

Yes, friends and family are welcome to support you along the way. They are welcome to watch at the start/finish line, checkpoints along the route, and at Olds College.

Do I need to bring my own food?

We provide food for the whole event; we offer breakfast for both Saturday and Sunday, snacks and lunch along the route, dinner on Saturday and a celebration BBQ Sunday. However, you may choose to bring your own snacks, or purchase food in the Troubled Monk Outdoor Beer Gardens if you have down time before dinner. We do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions but strongly recommend you bring your own food if you are on a restricted diet.

What do I do if I can no longer ride?

DAY 1: SAG vehicles pick up cyclists who cannot finish or need a break from cycling. Cyclists will be taken to the next checkpoint along the route. Snag a SAG by safely getting off your bike and holding your helmet up in the air.

DAY 2: If you cannot ride on Day 2 whatsoever, there will be a shuttle leaving Sunday morning from Olds at 9 am to the finish line in Airdrie (cyclists are to meet in front of the luggage storage area). There will also be a shuttle leaving from the lunch stop to the finish line in Airdrie. SAG vehicles will also be available to support you.

Once I arrive in Olds how should I spend my afternoon?

Once you get your accommodations sorted (settle into your RV, check into your dorm or hotel), please join the celebration in the Troubled Monk Outdoor Beer Gardens - where 100% of the proceeds go towards the MS Society (please bring cash and your ID!). Have a drink, play some games, socialize with fellow riders, and visit the various team tents!

Can my dog join us in the festivities at Olds College?

While we love your furry family members too, animals are not permitted on the Olds College campus due to the veterinary program at the school.

Post-Tour Information

If I did not cycle day 2 of the tour, where do I pick up my bike?

All bikes left in the Bike Storage area or along the route will be transported to the finish line where they will be stored in a secure area until you claim it. All unclaimed bikes at the end of the tour will be brought to the MS Society office (150, 110 Quarry Park Blvd SE Calgary).

How do I retrieve my luggage when the tour is done?

Your luggage will be transported to the start/finish line in Airdrie. You can pick up your luggage from the luggage truck beside the parking lot!

Where do I inquire regarding lost and found items?
