Canada has the highest rate of MS in the world.
It’s true – 100 000 Canadians live with MS. Having multiple sclerosis means that one morning you may not be able to walk when you wake up. Or that you may suddenly have impaired vision. Or that your memory will fail you for no apparent reason. The symptoms of MS are many and vary for everyone.
I’m taking the challenge to help the MS Society fund research, advocate for change, and help people with MS and their families. Proceeds from my campaign and others like it provide support and services to help those living with this disease, their families and caregivers. They also fund research with three primary goals: to find a cause and cure for MS, repair nervous system damage caused by MS and stop MS attacks. By supporting me, you too can make a difference in the life of someone with multiple sclerosis.
For over 30 years my Father has had MS and every day he fights for us and for himself. My Father is one of the strongest men I know and his strength and courage is what makes McCallum's Miles for MS make a difference. Unfortunately after 31 years living at home, my Father is now living in a care facility where he is well taken care of. On July 29th, 2017 I am planning on walking 40km's to help raise funds for MS. I will start from the High School in Tsawwassen, through Ladner to DeltaView and back. Come join me or cheer me on. I am doing whatever it takes in the fight to end MS.
