June 18, 2016 - I ride to fight against MS ... and YOU?
"Arrêter la SP: ça roule!" This is a day when motorcyclists join their passion and commitment to unite around a common goal: to end MS!
For the third edition of the event, it will be possible, for passionate and committed motorcyclists, to travel nearly 470 km in a loop leaving and returning to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. We will drive to Granby and then fork on Asbestos. Joining the 216, we will follow it and, later, join the path of Vimy and its meanders a little south of Thetford Mines. From there we will drive towards Victoriaville and then take the A20 at Notre-Dame-Du-Bon-Conseil.
Arrived in Saint-Hilaire we will leave the highway to go along the Richelieu until Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.
Made in the spirit of a relax ride, this event aims to bring together motorcycle enthusiasts who will ride the asphalt for a good cause.
To understand what motivates me, let me introduce you to what commonly called Multiple Sclerosis.
Imagine that, due to multiple sclerosis, you may not be able to get up one morning, you suddenly feel blurred vision or your memory si failing you with no apparent reason. The symptoms of MS are many and vary from one person to another. According to estimates, about 100 000 men and women live with this disease in our country, and about three new cases of MS are found every day.
... A future without MS
The MS Society is the only national voluntary organization in support of MS research while providing services to people who are struggling with this disease. Profits from this event are to fund research, whose three main objectives are to find the cause and cure for MS, repair nervous system damage caused by MS and to end MS attacks.
Let's work together
My wife is suffering from this disease, I did not hesitate to ride for this cause. I've been able to raise $ 7,620 dollars in recent years by participating in another event and then organizing it. It is only a drop in the ocean, but it has allowed, with all the others, to bring the hope that one day we will come to the end. As a result, I set myself the goal of raising a minimum of $ 2,000 for this edition. And for that I need your help.
Multiple sclerosis remains a mystery as to its causes, development, treatment is difficult and requires a lot of research. The MS Society provides funding for it thanks to your donations. For lack of a cure, drugs, currently in development and on the market, allow a break in symptoms and improve the quality of life of sufferers. By supporting me, you can, you also change the life of someone with multiple sclerosis.
