After racking my brain for a day I couldn't decide what to name the team to support Melanie's journey with MS. Her two boys were my inspiration; Tanner & Fraser. Tanner's nickname is Tanner Monkey, which is well deserved too! One year when we were at the Calgary Zoo (I think he was 4) he was playing by the picnic tables waiting for his mum & dad to come back from buying us "Screamers" (throwback to our college days) I overheard a young boy say "Mum, you better call animal control because that kid just turned into a monkey!" Little did he know how fitting it really was for Tanner.
When Melanie was pregnant with her second child it was fun to try and pick out an animal name for the little one... Fraser Bear joined the family and the zoo had formed! ;) There's always activity whether it be the kids running in & out of the house playing on the trampoline or the gang hanging in the living room playing video games. I don't know how those two zoo-keepers do it!
I'm honored to have such a wonderful friend in Melanie and so very thankful to my friends and family who support me in the journey to help her.
With so much love,
Can you imagine...
Having multiple sclerosis means that one morning you may not be able to walk when you wake up. Or that you may suddenly have impaired vision. Or that your memory will fail you for no apparent reason. The symptoms of MS are many and vary for everyone. It's estimated that approximately 55,000-75,000 men and women in Canada have the disease, and every day about three more people are diagnosed.
...a future without MS
I've registered for the MS Walk because I want to do something for everyone who lives with multiple sclerosis. With your help, together we can make a difference.
