Why do I lace up? I lace up for my best friend, the love of my life, my wife, Allison. Allison was diagnosed with MS around 2009-2010. At that time she had been dealing with servere pain for almost 10 years with no logical reason for it. After countless tests, several doctors, and losts and losts of patience, we finally had a name to put on her condition.
Allison is THE strongest person I know. I am amazed every day at the resilience that she has, and I feel truely blessed that I am able to spend my life with her. If you see her out and about, you would never guess that she is in pain. Allison had decided a long time before she was diagnosed with MS to not let pain control her. Often people look at her with disbelief when she tells them about having MS. Allison lives every day like it is special, and she has shown me that no matter what happens in our lives, we have a choice. We can choose to let the things in life dictate how we feel, or we can choose to feel happy about right now because, why not?
