On Sunday, May 5th, I will be completing the MS Walk for the 14th year in a row, and I would like your support! And this year I am older and wiser, so I have devised a plan to (hopefully) collect more pledges than my wife, Angèle. After frequently receiving comments from my children and my students about the current appearance of my hair and beard, I’ve decided to risk them both in order to help me meet my fundraising goals this year! Check out the details:
If I raise $500, I will trim my full beard down to a simple goatee.
If I raise $750, I will also trim the goatee, leaving only a moustache.
If I raise $1000, I will shave my entire beard and go back to 2005-era baby face.
And, if I raise more money than Angèle, I will dye my remaining hair, with the colour to be determined by my single highest donor!
Last year, our team of family and friends – the MS MegaStars – collected nearly $5000 for the cause! With the help of your generous donation, we hope to match or beat that total again this year. As always, I will be walking in honour of my late father-in-law, Marcel Thibodeau, who battled MS for the final 28 years of his life, as well as in support of my sister-in-law, Tara Thibodeau, who continues her own battle with MS.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a neurological disease with no known cure. The symptoms of MS are numerous and vary for everyone. It’s estimated that approximately 100,000 people in Canada have the disease, and every day about three more people are diagnosed.
I am part of the MS Walk because I believe we will end multiple sclerosis - with your help we can get there. Please give generously.
P.S. If you would like to pledge Angèle, please follow the link to our team page (MS Mega Stars), then select her name from the team list.
