Why I’m lacing up
There are no words to describe the shock and helplessness I felt when I was diagnosed with MS in December 2014. I did not know what this meant or how I would get through it. It took a while for this news to really sink in and in all honesty, I dont know if this will ever feel 'normal' as this is not something that I ever thought I would have to deal with for my entire life. Despite the daily struggle of the disease, I am motivated and hopeful with the research being conducted in Canada and around the world to find a cure.
Every day 3 more Canadians are diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, an unpredictable illness that affects vision, balance, memory and mobility. We don’t know what causes MS and there is no cure, but I’m walking to help change lives beginning right where I live.
Your support means families in our community who are impacted by this often devastating disease do not have to face MS alone.
