MS Walk

I woke up on November 19th, 2018 completely numb from the waist down. After a couple days in the hospital and several tests including an mri, I was diagnosed with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis. My initial reaction was relief because I’d been living with symptoms of the disease for almost 7 years and it was starting to drive me crazy.
The last few months have been really challenging between the mobility issues, fatigue, and a bad reaction to the steroids I was given. But the one thing I keep thinking about is how lucky I am. I have incredibly supportive friends and family, access to affordable health care, understanding employers and an amazingly caring and helpful partner. I can’t imagine what this experience would have been like without all of those things. I have always been grateful for my friends and family but this experience has made me hyper aware of all the privileges I was born with and continue to benefit from. I want to raise money for MS research so that this disease doesn’t add another burden on the lives of people who are already struggling.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to read my story and for your support and donations to this wonderful cause.
